Krail, Cat’s Face Mitty in Opener

Los Gatos will have its hands full when they take the field to face the Archbishop Mitty Monarchs this Friday night at Foothill College. The Monarchs team is loaded with talent and balance on both sides of the ball.

Typifying that balance is Chandler Ramirez, a 6-1, 210-pound running back and linebacker. The returning first-team All-WCAL member joins lineman Daniel Mendoza (6-1, 250), running back and defensive back Kyle Evans, and running back and defensive back Dakari Monroe, only a junior, as fantastic two-way players. Linebackers Drew Mount and Erik Sargis led the team in tackles last season with a combined 177.

The Cat’s played the Monarchs extremely tough last year, and almost pulled out the win, but lost the game 28 – 20. Los Gatos scored 13 in the fourth quarter but it wasn’t enough to over take the Monarchs who scored 14 in the second, and two more TD’s in the second half to fend off the Wildcats.

This should be a great contest that will most likely come down to the final minutes of the game before the victor has been decided. This will be Coach Mark Krails debut as the Cat’s head coach, and he would love to come out with a win over a great perennial CCS opponent like Mitty.

Los Gatos Football will have photos, highlights, and the offensive, defensive, and special teams player of the game on our site following the game. Cat’s Varsity Schedule
